Kanye West Reveals Updated 'Jesus Is King' Album Release Date

Jesus Is King is coming!

Kanye West returned to Twitter for the first time since January 1 to announce that his new album will be be released this week. “JESUS IS KING” OCT 25th," Ye captioned a blue vinyl image.

The announcement comes after a number of album delays by Mr. West. As fans know, Ye delayed Jesus Is King last month, days before its scheduled release. While Ye did not reveal what caused the delay, Variety reported that it came just after the "Mixed Personalities" rapper held a meeting about the album with Def Jam executives at his occasional home base of Wyoming. A source characterized the sit-down as a “Come to Yeezus” meeting, and the outlet noted that "it seems possible that an album of Christian-themed songs is perhaps not what label executives had in mind as the new release from arguably its biggest star."

Jesus Is King was first teased by Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian in August when she shared a photo of a handwritten tracklist filled with heavily gospel-influenced tracks and "September 27th" written at the bottom. Days later, Ye confirmed the album's release on his website.

Should the October 25 date hold, Jesus Is King will drop on the same day as Ye's album accompanying film also titled Jesus is King.
