Nothing says "I'm Sorry" quite like a bouquet of flowers, and that's exactly how Lizzo apologized to Seth Meyers' dad for some choice words she had during a tipsy interaction years ago.
The "Still Bad" singer returned to Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday (April 9) where the pair reminisced about their hilarious outing in 2022 for the show's "day drinking" segment. While the video was full of laughs, one moment that really stuck out as a "highlight" was when they called Meyers' dad Laurence and left him a voicemail that ended with Lizzo laughing and saying "Bye, b----."
Apparently, the musician felt bad about ending on that note and decided to take matters into her own hands and say sorry, per People.
"I did not know you did this. I found out you did this from my dad, because you got my dad's address, and you sent flowers to my parents' house with a note that said, 'Dear Larry, I'm sorry I called you a b----,'" Meyers said. "And let me just say, when we talked about how nothing happens overnight, I had a real moment when that happened because I thought to myself, 'What events had to conspire in my career that my dad called me to say, 'I got flowers from Lizzo.' Like, in what world?"
The pair then decided to give Larry another call, though the "Love in Real Life" musician pledged not to "call him a b----" this time around. Once again leaving the comedian's father a message, Lizzo said, "Um hey, I love you so much. This is Lizzo. I miss you so much" before she prompted Meyers to "say 'b----.'"
However, the Saturday Night Live alum flipped the script and quickly told his dad, "She called you a b---- backstage," before ending the call, leaving a flabbergasted Lizzo to exclaim, "No, you said b----! That was your line! Read the cue card!"
