Is Chappell Roan's sophomore album R-E-A-D-Y to go?

That seems to be the question on fans' minds after the Midwest Princess released her latest single, "The Subway," on Thursday, July 31, while details about her next album remain under wraps.

During a recent interview with Vogue, the "Good Luck, Babe" songstress revealed that, while she has released two new tracks this year, there is "no collection of songs" set to drop shortly.

"The second project doesn’t exist yet. There is no album. There is no collection of songs."

She continued, unveiling that it took her half a decade to release her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and that she'll likely follow a similar time frame for her next project.

"It took me five years to write the first one, and it’s probably going to take at least five to write the next. I’m not that type of writer that can pump it out."

Roan explained that she doesn't like to rush as she feels it decreases the quality of her music.

"I don’t think I make good music whenever I force myself to do anything. I see some comments sometimes, like, 'She’s everywhere except that d*** studio.' Even if I was in the studio 12 hours a day, every single day, that does not mean that you would get an album any faster."

While it's looking like fans will have to wait a while for a new album, Popstars will get the opportunity to see the star on tour this year! Just last month, the "Pink Pony Club" singer announced that she will be embarking on Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things, an eight-date pop-up tour with stops in New York, California, and her home state of Missouri (per US Weekly).
