With the 2024 Olympics in Paris officially over, everyone is now looking forward to the next summer Olympics coming to Los Angeles! And with a new venue comes possibly new sports being added to the Olympics for that year.
The LA28 Organizing Committee proposed 5 sports as a package for the 2028 Summer Olympics in L.A and each of those were reviewed and supported by the IOC Program Commission and Executive Board.
“The choice of these five new sports is in line with the American sports culture and will showcase iconic American sports to the world while bringing international sports to the United States,” IOC President Thomas Bach said. “These sports will make the Olympic Games LA 28 unique…Their inclusion will allow the Olympic movement to engage with new athlete and fan communities in the U.S. and globally.”

- Field Lacrosse
- Squash
